Hello! We are ella and mahlivahn, two local filmmakers. la crosse was recently chosen by bloomberg philanthropies to give our grant money to youth who want to take climate action work towards a better environmental future. Thanks to this grant and the help of the la crosse film academy, we are making a short film.

our film will focus on the lifelong journey of environmental education and community engagement in la crosse and their impact on our ecosystem. our objective is to show how education is a continuous and essential part of creating a healthier la crosse, as well as what we can do to help the area achieve its climate goals mentioned in the la crosse climate action plan.

we will emphasize that our (human) impact on the ecosystem starts with education and can transform through action. the film will follow students from different age groups in their environmental education with the local community. When the film is complete, we are hoping to have it premiere at the rivoli. we also want to submit it to film festivals that focus on climate action/environmental films in order to spread our message as far as we can.
